As the Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and fostering strong relationships within the market for the 5* Drostdy Hotel.
About the hotel
In the heart of Graaff-Reinet, a town with a rich history and immense character, the Drostdy Hotel is found. Initially built in the 1800s, the hotel has been refined over the years to become one of South Africa’s top 10 hotels, boasting modern amenities and luxurious finishings.
Drostdy Hotel hosts the most spectacular weddings in the region. The Restaurant boasts a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Local and international guests alike are delighted by this gourmet establishment that bears a hint of traditional flair. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at De Camdeboo Restaurant.
Role Overview: As the Sales Manager, you will serve as a vital link between the operations and third-party distributors, forging connections that maximize occupancy rates and enhance guest experiences. Working closely with various department teams, you'll ensure seamless coordination between Sales, Reservations, and Operations to facilitate comprehensive site surveys. Your efforts will contribute to the timely delivery of up-to-date service, rate, and promotional information to 3rd Party Distributors, Consortia, OTA’s, and PCA’s. Additionally, you'll attend trade shows and events to promote and sell the hotel and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively utilize software applications and communication tools to collect and catalogue market information for generating sales leads.
- Manage processes and systems to generate sales and ensure exceptional guest accommodations.
- Utilize property management software to monitor guest preferences and develop sales strategies.
- Respond to inquiries, generate accurate quotations, and send them to clients promptly.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Reservations Manager to ensure correct commission structures for 3rd Party distributors.
- Produce accurate Revenue Reports, Daily Pick-Up reports, Sales Activity, and Strategy Adjustment reports.
- Represent the Group at trade shows and sales events.
- Implement personalized service processes and systems.
- Assist in employee selection, training, and coaching for sales excellence.
- Maintain compliance with quality standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Revenue and Reservations Manager to assess distribution partners and pricing strategies.
- Assist in budget proposals and management of costs.
- Ensure facilities are maintained to high standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Sales within hotels.
- Proficiency in sales strategies, market data analysis, reservations software, and Microsoft Office.
- Opera Experience.
- Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with hospitality terminology.
