Our goals: (1) Strengthening volunteer management and recruitment. (2) Conducting outreach and securing resources in support of service activities that meet specific needs in the community. (3) Helping build the infrastructure of the sponsoring organization. (4) Developing collaborative relationships with other organizations working to achieve similar goals in the community. Current service activities identified by partner agencies include: • prepare and deliver books to families, distribute books at community sites, tutor iand perform capacity-building services such as researching demographics and data mapping. • assist with tutor training, coaching tutors, and supporting volunteer recruitment and tutor management efforts. • support volunteer management and recruitment, assist with communications, conduct outreach, assist with securing resources needed for service activities • event planning and coordination for Kindergarten readiness and educational events, Coordination with partner organizations who also provide K-8 tutoring support and Kindergarten readiness • assist program participants in their goals to learn skills, earn GED’s, engage in community service and civic engagement, and prepare for postsecondary training and education opportunities • develop family engagement programming and conduct career assessment and career coaching for adult participants/parents • develop and automate organizational systems for efficient and effective transition to in-house financial and grant management • evaluate participant data for program design recommendations and sustainability efforts coordinate a family engagement calendar and support family engagement efforts and programming • strengthen collaborative relationships with partner organizations, school districts, local government agencies and institutions of higher learning in Pitt, Martin and Beaufort County • conduct research, mapping community assets
